Allods Online’s New Order will be broken up into four seasons

Does anyone else find it slightly ominous that the Russian-created Allods Online has an update coming out called “New Order?” Will all MMOs soon be subjugated by the power and might of this one? Will we begin every day by wrestling bears and teaching our kids the Cyrillic alphabet?

Or, y’know, it could just be a meaty little content patch. Update 7.0: New Order won’t be coming all at once but instead will be separated into four successive “mini-seasons.” Each mini-season will feature new parts to the story, an increase in equipment levels, and access to new astral sectors and raids. These mini-seasons are expected to last about four months apiece, meaning that this update will gradually be rolled out over the next 16 months.

New Order will also be making some changes to equipment (for example, gylphs and dragon relics are being removed), and as a result equipment scores are being recalculated. While content is gated by equipment level, the devs have created a new system that allows two well-geared characters to take along a third lesser-geared character into allods and raid adventures.
