The Culling runs through its closed alpha test

Well done, lads.

The Culling, that Hunger Games-inspired multiplayer deathmatch game, is currently in the thick of its closed alpha test. A “select number of participants” pulled from those who registered have been bludgeoning, stabbing, and shocking each other over the weekend in an attempt to be the last man or woman standing.

If you were disappointed that you didn’t get a spot in the alpha, then there might be some good news for you today. The devs are looking to expand the test’s population and have encouraged fans to like and share the game’s Facebook page as a way to enter their names in for a testing spot.

The early access launch for The Culling will commence on March 8th.

It reminds me of Bioshock…

BalsBigBrother From what I saw there’s stuff like chainsaws, katanas, axes, revolvers, blowpipes that fire poison darts, bows, and also ala Hunger Games special events can happen to screw people up.

From the stream I watched it looks ok visually but at this point isnt doing too much gameplay wise to differentiate it from other “battle royal” type games apart from using mainly non gun weapons as far as i can tell.
Think I will stick with a certain free mod for Arma 3 for the odd occasion I am in the mood for this type of thing.

PizzaDoh I think Dead Island: Epidemic attempted to try something like that and utterly failed as, upon Google searching, it was shut down on October 15th, 2015.

I’m so bored of all these “survival” games, however, this one looks to be the highest quality of them all so far in terms of the art quality and gameplay.

By select number that of course means a ton of Youtubers/Twitch streamers and then the lesser peasants get the remains.
That said it looks really fun, and I’m surprised that it’s the first game to actually do a Hunger Games style.   Battle Royale in ARMA (which was then copied and monetized by H1Z1) was pretty much the closest thing so far.  Also from watching people stream it, it looks like it’s got a bit of whackiness to it as well with all the crazy weapons you can get and I think I heard the announcer being a bit over the top?  *shrug*
Either way looks like a fun game.

I bought this game & was lucky enough to get access.
Really enjoyed it, threw & threw. Nice change of scenery from H1Z1 BR + its pretty much action packed the entire match. Think Hunger Games & this is as close to it as you’re going to get.
