Things aren’t looking good for LUX’s Kickstarter campaign. With a little over two days left to go, the multi-platform survival MMO has only raised about $78,000 of its $200,000 goal. This might not spell the end of the game’s ambitions, however, as the team said that it is looking for other investors to give LUX the funding it needs to produce a playable beta.
“While we are actively working on ways to make this game happen without Kickstarter, funding is critical,” the team posted in a Kickstarter update. “Once funded, we should be able to give players closed beta access within a few months. (Without the funding we have no set timeline.) We have a lot to go if we want to hit our $200k goal, but we’re going to see this campaign through. If we can continue to see backers numbers increasing in a big way, we have investors who will add over $1M to LUX.”
The post also addressed community accusations that the title was pay-to-win due to the benefits of certain pledge tiers. The team made some adjustments to those rewards and gave explanations of the controversial tiers.
