PlanetSide 2’s massive construction patch has deployed

PlanetSide 2’s big patch today introduces a brand-new construction system for those patient enough to wait out the extra-long maintenance downtime. Entering the MMO is a new limited mineral substance called Cortium that players will use to create pop-up fortifications, turrets, bunkers, and garages.

Daybreak is requesting feedback on Reddit; so far, audio bugs seem to be the worst of the reports. And what about the PlayStation 4 version of the game? Not this week, apparently:

Great game, I just wish I didn’t panic everytime I saw an enemy and shoot wildly over their shoulder every-single-time.

ARGH! My gaming laptop’s got some hardware failure that prevents me from playing games. I’ve been surviving on a diet of tablet-viable games (thank you Hearthstone!) and Nintendo console titles, but… I don’t think my tablet can handle this, and I’ve been waiting a looong time to see how this pans out -_-

Construction patch sounds awesome, but I don’t know if I can stomach the rampant lag-wizardry long enough to appreciate it.

The update also includes a complete revamp of the continent Indar. Nearly every base updated or entirely removed (to make room for building and vehicle fights).

BalsBigBrother I still dip in from time to time. I don’t think I could ever “full time” the game, but playing a few times a week is good fun.
I do want to check out this update, but I think I’ll hold off for a few days while they play whack a mole with bugs. Can’t remember the last time a major patch came out (Hossin?) so I’m willing to bet there’s some wonkyness going on.

Been a long time since I played this game so this might be a good time to go take a peek again.  I remember playing it quite rabidly for a while but then getting pretty bored and burned out with it. Wonder how long I will last this time round :-)
