Betawatch: Paragon launches its essentials and plans for open beta (June 10, 2016)

Yeah, that's your problem, definitely.

If you’re so eager to get into Paragon that you cannot wait another moment, you can buy in with the game’s new Essentials Edition to get immediate access to the title. But you should know that the game you get in to play is going to be changing rather significantly before it hits open testing on August 16th. So caveat emptor, as always.

We also are saying a final farewell to Landmark, as it launched today. What its future holds is not for us to say in this column, because this is about beta tests.

The beta sphere has been generally quiet this week as everyone gears up for E3 next week, but we’ve still got some highlights:

The list below is also still full of betas, as it only lost one title off of it; lots of games are still in testing. As always, let us know if something slipped in an open testing cash shop or the like without us catching it.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
