It has been a while since we talked about New Dawn, so here’s a quick refresher: This is an in-development survival sandbox that puts players in the role of South American natives in the 1800 who must fend off pirates while living off the land. There are interesting mechanics, such as taming horses, being killed in your sleep while you’re offline, and a slavery system with the NPCs.
Of course, there’s always a world of difference between hearing about a game and seeing it in action, which is why the team has posted a four-and-a-half minute video of New Dawn’s gameplay. In the following video, you’ll see some of the game’s gorgeous biomes, coconut picking, buffalo killing, crafting, and combat.
New Dawn is gearing up for a Kickstarter campaign that’s due to start on January 16th.
