But wait, there’s more! The game does indeed have Black Friday sales running through Cyber Monday, offering players 75% off on Virtue bundles and 50% off on both complete crafting tiers and select housing bundles. So you’ve got lots of stuff vying for your time and money there; it’ll be up to you what is most valuable. You could always wait to get a new style of elf, after all.

Damn, I’m back too.
Oh cool I have about twelve billion points so that’s a definite buy.
Yoink!
The opening scenario for a High Elf is really amazing. You’re back in the Second Age witnessing the battle of the Morannon, the Black Gate, and the Last Alliance of Men and Elves, led by Elendil and Gil-galad. One of the best things I’ve experienced in LOTRO.
Aw, nuts, I wanted to be one of the Vanyar in Valinor, eating bon-bons, and bemoaning the poor decision-making of the lesser elves who chose to leave the Blessed Realm, or who blew their chances by hanging out with Melian.
Dilly Dilly!
Sounds awesome! I wasn’t really planning on playing a High Elf, but maybe I’ll drop the points on one just for that intro.
But that means spending an hour trying to find a free name instead of dying in Mordor. Oh well if I must ;-)
you can use the random generator as long as you don’t mind being named something like “gilberthoroniel” :D
Just finished the scenario and I concur it is rather good and it only took me 20 minutes to find a name so I count that as a win. Now I have to load up my proper UI and sort through 8 years worth of junk um anniversary rewards :p

Christmas comes a month early. Guess I’ll be spending some points today.
Well I am glad I waited for the Black Friday stuff to pop. Purchased the Mordor expansion and high elf too with my accumulated points. It should be noted that the expansion is just that there are no extras such as character level boost and so on when you purchase with points.
SSG did get some money out of me I just spent it on a six month sub instead. So I guess I will be able to put some actual mmo stuff in WRUP and One Shots this weekend and for a few more to come heh :-)
All the previous expansions prior to Mordor are deeply discounted too ranging from £1.13 (normally £7.54) for Mirkwood, £2.26 (normally £15.10) each Moria, Isenguard, Rohan and finally Helm’s Deep £4.53 (normally £30.20 bloody hell!)
That is a lot of content and if you have any interest in Lotro and don’t have these now is the time to grab em.
Yeah, I’ve had a sub on annual renewal since… well, since I started my most recent full-time job over four years ago. That’s part of why the whole cash-only expansion thing rankled me so much. I drop close to $100 a year for this game, that damned well ought to cover all the content.
Ah, well, now that the expansion and race are finally available for points, SSG is forgiven. And just in time for my next subscription renewal, too. :P
