I wish I was going to TennoCon. It’s not far from me. But I’m already booked this weekend.

The weather looks great, too. Hope everybody has fun!

Nice! I’ll be in London by nightfall, staying at the Delta London Armouries Hotel till Sunday.

Awesome to know you’ll be attending Tennocon too MJ, enjoy!

TennoCon is finally here!!!

Something I forgot to mention during the stream – now that The Fluffinator is mature, their DNA will start to degrade. You can prevent this by either keeping them in stasis (bringing them out of stasis takes time, but can be rushed with plat) or using DNA Stabilisers (bought from the market for 5k credits a pack). Fortunately a patch has now made it so that a pet which runs out of DNA stability automatically goes into stasis instead of dying.

Enjoy TennoCon!

I think DNA stabilizers are 75K per pack.

They showed up as only 5k for me, but that might be becuase I have the incubator upgrade installed? I know they changed a bunch of things about pet maintenance some months back.

Yup that’s it.

Upgrade Effects:

Stasis Recovery reduced to 30 minutes.
Stasis Recovery can be rushed with Credits 10,000.
On PC : DNA stabilisers cost reduction from Credits 75000 to Credits 5000.
Egg incubation reduced by a day.
After the upgrade segment is installed, the daily DNA degradation rate is reduced from 10% to 5%.

Don’t forget, if you link up your Twitch + Warframe accounts you can get Ash Prime for free by watching at least 30 minutes of their July 7th TennoCon presentation.

I’ve been internally debating trying this game out. Would this Ash Prime be a good Frame to start with? I honestly don’t know anything about the Frames, guess I could hit up a Wiki. :P

A free anything is helpful! If you have Twitch/Amazon Prime running right now then sign up to warframe, get your accounts linked and you should hopefully recieve a free Trinity Prime frame too. This is in addition to what ever frame you pick as your official starter (I personally recommend Excalibur as the most balanced newbie frame). That way you’ll have good choices for content. Right now is an excellent time to start because of the free frame promos.

The wiki is excellent – always have a tab open to it – but it can be information overload.

Like Zen said, you’ll automatically get to choose from among a few different frames when you start, the best of which is probably Excalibur (both in power and in saving yourself from a grind down the road). Ash Prime also works well for beginners; he’s maybe a bit more glass cannon than Excal, but he also has the ability to get out of most near-death experiences. Excalibur’s the grounded soldier, Ash is the ninja.

If you do give the game a go, I’d recommend watching iFlynn’s excellent series of starter videos as you progress. He takes you through the “early game” experience, which actually covers a LOT of ground.

Ultimately the best advice for Warframe is this: expect to still feel like you don’t entirely know what you’re doing even after 100 hours of play. There are a lot of systems in the game, a lot of different things to do, and they’re not always explained super well within the game. It’s a much better beginning experience now than it was 3 years ago, but still has plenty of room for improvement.

Any Prime frame will be awesome! Ash is one of the more challenging frames for some content but it is a lot of fun solo. As Zen says below you can also get Trinity Prime if you’re subbed to Twitch Prime. But if not, just dive in and use Excalibur — that will give a great taste of the game in general.
