Claim your Blade & Soul freebie pack before the Legacy of the Hongmoon Clan launches March 13

The next major update for Blade & Soul, Legacy of the Hongmoon Clan, will be going live next month on March 13th, and while we don’t know a whole lot about it just yet, NCSoft has announced that it will be giving players a nifty Hongmoon Ascension pack full of useful items to commemorate the update’s release.

The pack, which players can register to receive on the game’s official site, contains a level 60 boost voucher “that will take any character to level 60,” an exclusive Hongmoon Ascension costume, as well as an XP charm, an Orb of Ascension, and more. Admittedly, it’s somewhat curious to offer an instant level-60 boost as part of the pack considering that one of the update’s major additions is going to be the increasing of the level cap to 60 in the first place, but hey.

The update will also include “all new class specializations, the Temple of Succession storyline, a new island full of rare beasts, the debut of the Lyn Warden, and more,” according to the official site. At any rate, players who want to get their hands on their Hongmoon Ascension packs will need to make sure they nab them by March 11th, so don’t wait too long.

And while players are waiting for the Legacy of the Hongmoon Clan update to drop, they can take part in a new “very special” PvP event called Shackled Isles, which is described as a “mayhem-filled 20-player, Battle Royale-style PvP event filled with boosts to help you emerge victorious, and challenging boss encounters added to the fray.” Those who emerge victorious from this martial arts bloodbath will earn “exclusive rewards and bragging rights.” The devs don’t specify when exactly this event will be going live, but they promise that more information is coming, so be sure to keep an eye out.

That was a terrible trailer.

Anyway, i wonder if i’m interested in playing any NCSoft game anymore.

Meh, it is f2p. So, if you get bored one day, give it a try and don’t buy anything. NCsoft won’t get a nickel. Heh.

I claimed my pack yesterday. Lyn warden, here I come! :’D The 60 boost is not necessarily something I’m interested in because while I appreciate the convenience, I don’t appreciate being tossed into the level cap game on a brand new class I know nothing about. Everything else about the package and this update seems excellent though.

“I claimed my pack yesterday.”

Even the website tells us the pack will be available when the update goes live, which it hasn’t. So i really don’t believe you.

So, this is the update we were supposed to get last December. I was beginning to wonder if we would ever see it. Heh.

But better late than never. And a much needed boost to bring back the faithful.

Awakenings will shake things up quite a bit. Unlike BDO which introduces awakened skills one class at a time, BnS is doing them all at once. And the awakened skill set will be easily toggled on and off.

The Lyn Warden is something that should have been delivered decoupled from awakenings and delivered sooner. But, it will bring back some fans and convince many more to create another toon and keep playing.

I’ll be right in the thick of it any which way. Lol.

This article mentions nothing of the most important feature of this release. That is, the Lyn Warden! Folks should shake in fear of that concept, as they did with the Gnome Death Knight back in Wrath! <3

…err, I think Mr. raphael fills us in on that below. o.O

Oh yes! The Lyn Warden is part of the release. Much to the chagrin of those who dislike cute, cuddly, and deadly creatures. Heh.

Oh, I can clear up the level 60 voucher reward despite the fact that the update includes a new level 60 cap question.

You see, the update also includes a new class for the Lyns, the Lyn Warden. So the level 60 voucher is for those that want to have a Lyn Warden but don’t want to start level 1. The drawback, of course, is that you have to learn how to play a Warden at 60. A daunting task I can assure you as Wardens are tank and buff toons. But for those who already have a Warden, but wanted a Lyn Warden? Come to papa!!!

The voucher is a pretty great deal actually because it includes level 60 weapon and shield and also a cool Hongmoon Duster outfit that is very rare as a game drop.

Get ready for hundreds of Lyns running around with swords 3 times their size. Lol! The animation when they use the sword will be worth the price of admission.
