Black Desert’s new roadmap teases new maps and new group-based content on the way

There’s big news coming out of Black Desert today, as Pearl Abyss and Kakao have dropped a roadmap of new content coming to the game “before the end of this quarter,” including a badass new horse called Doom, an underwater ruins map for high-level toons, a new region dubbed Star’s End, and “a brand-new experience will add new group based content to Black Desert Online which will introduce a different type of PvE than what players have seen so far.”

“Aside from these major content updates, smaller changes will also be made to keep people engaged and improve the overall quality of Black Desert Online. The Mediah Quest Renewal, for instance, will update most activities in the region, including background lore and story to provide a more immersive experience. In Garmoth Chase players will have to follow the menacing dragon as he flies around Drieghan. Lucky players can earn the rewards he drops down from the sky.”

Meanwhile, today’s PC update launches Mystical Ellie’s Water Festival event as well as a new fan-made trailer contest.

Group content to these guys is charging so much you have to pool money with your friends to upgrade the next tier on one toon.

Chasing a dragon over the map sounds like keeping your fingers busy. Hope the lore is good.

I’m pretty skeptical of all of this. Virtually all group content in this game falls into two categories.

1. Absolutely worthless garbage. Savage Rift is just terrible waste of time that it’s rewards can be gained by a new level 50 grinding in a basic spot with no AP. It’s just awful.

2. Piled into some extremely high geared spot/region that requires end game gear to get into that’s going to miss out on vast majority of people who play the game.
