The seasonal events of Star Trek Online have long lived within the game’s Reputation system alongside the projects of those mechanics, but not any longer. A new post on the official site reveals that within a short span of time, players will be tracking event progress by a new tab in the Mission Journal, thus changing and rearranging the way that seasonal event progress works to be more intuitive and straightforward for players across the board.

Instead of working like projects which require steady progress on a daily basis, the new interface will functionally work exactly like gaining experience, with progress being accumulated and more forgiving of anyone who misses some time but still wants the rewards. Progress is also account-wide for players who fly multiple different captains, further streamlining the process. The ultimate goal was to bring in more of the fun, freewheeling sense of seasonal events that the Reputation system wasn’t as good at facilitating; players will get an opportunity to test how well the change works in the very near future.
