There’s nothing bigger or better in the fantasy world than a dragon, is there? How about a whole bunch of dragons who have been wrangled into a 135-card expansion, ready to unleash fire and brimstone upon a Hearthstone board.

At BlizzCon this weekend, Blizzard announced the imminent arrival of Hearthstone: Descent of Dragons. Releasing on December 10th, the expansion wraps up the game’s five-year story arc and gives players the ability to transform into a massive dragon of their own.

“The League of E.V.I.L. plans to bring doom to Azeroth by resurrecting Galakrond—the father of all dragons—who’s playable in different forms in Hearthstone as a set of five new Hero cards. Available to the five ‘E.V.I.L.’ classes—Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior—Galakrond takes on a form appropriate to the corresponding class, each with a unique Battlecry and Hero Power,” Blizzard’s press statement said. The expansion includes new side quests for the “good” classes as well.

Hearthstone also revealed its new eight-player Battlegrounds mode, which is an “auto-battler” with 24 heroes, minions, and a play space of its own. This is a free mode that does not involve cards and is going into open beta on November 12th. Battlegrounds will boast fun rewards for players, such as free card packs.
