Path of Exile offers a list of hotfix changes and promises a large patch soon

A patch for 3.9.2 of Path of Exile is on the way, but not before there’s a hotfix that fixes a few critical issues beforehand. So, basically, the folks at Grinding Gear Games are back at it after their holiday break.

The next update is a small one (hence, hotfix), but it will address some problems like specific Atlas Regions ending up in a wrong state after migrating from SSF, fixing a client crash related to releasing Legion Generals, and fixing instance crashes with the Betrayal content and the Mao Kun unique map. As for the more substantive patch for 3.9.2, that’s due to arrive at some point later in the week, but players can look forward to a full set of patch notes at some point tomorrow.

So, convene here around the same time tomorrow, friends? Sounds good? Good.

Despite having to start over i have made more progress with the new atlas than i did with the old system though that is due to league mechanics i guess than mapping changes.

Having the chance to be able to tailor metamorph fights to drop maps or as a secondary option currency so I can just buy them from zana easily certainty help smooth the progress blocks with maps ssf players often face.

The actual end game mapping progress is poorly explained within the game and i watched a YouTube vid, which is never a good thing for players to have to do. Still once it clicked its been good so far. Though i dont expect to see the end game boss this league or for a while let alone have any chance of beating it.

Not really enjoying the changes they made to the atlas system with this league. I like that I can play maps at multiple tiers, but in my opinion the whole watchstone system is an unnecessary complication to the pre-existing system. When it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

the whole watchstone system is an unnecessary complication to the pre-existing system.

And it comes with a huge added dose of RNG and the near total removal of all visual information for players and the ability to manipulate their atlas to a certain extent.

Before: You could see shaper/elder influence, allowing you to spread elder with a reasonable degree of control to spawn regular/uber elder, with visual feedback on how to do so and after it was done. You could also specifically target shaper/elder influenced maps to run. Also, you can specifically farm for shaper if you have the maps to support it.

After: How soon will you spawn a conqueror? What conqueror will it be? Who knows! You can always pop open the atlas AS YOU SPAWN A MAP to see if there’s a ping for influence to maybe get an idea of which dude it will be, but that’s about as much control as you have.

How close are you to spawning one? Who knows. How should you run maps to get specific spawns? You can’t, just run them blindly within a region until they spawn. How about Siris? Nope, you don’t get to know that either.

The underlying idea of a customizable, upgradable atlas is fantastic. Their execution of it, especially with this leagues…rather basic and uninteresting mechanics, make me wonder how much of the team has already been pulled off of PoE to work on PoE 2.

Agreed. Their hearts were in the right place, but the implementation is quite lacking.

Really interested in the patch notes. This has not been a fun league for me, and I’m not a big fan of their execution of the atlas changes. Put the game on hold entirely until I see how things are being adjusted/fixed. Hell, even my brother is taking a break/annoyed with the game and he’s way more into it than me.
