While not exactly a goddess, Hua Mulan is a legendary figure in her own right and she knows a thing or three about fighting, so she makes a perfect addition to the Smite roster. Or, rather, she will once she arrives with the game’s next update.
Mulan is unique in that the more she uses one of her three weapons against enemy gods, the more proficient she gets and the more buffs her attacks receive, both in terms of base damage as well as with modifiers to her skills. Mulan also gets a buff every 10 seconds that reduces the cooldown of the next non-ultimate ability used by 2 seconds.
In addition to the new hero, the next update will bring on a variety of fixes to the game, several adjustments to the character roster, and a large number of skins. Most of these skins will arrive with the patch’s original release on Tuesday, February 25th, but there will be a follow-up patch on Tuesday, March 10th, which adds another new skin and promises more, with details to follow later. For now, you can check this series of patch notes for more on Mulan and everything else coming soon.
What? You thought I was going to make a movie reference? Silly reader. Though, to be fair, this is very likely linked to the upcoming live action movie’s release on March 27th on at least an unofficial basis. So, really, the whole character addition is a giant movie reference.
