The tweaks that Torchlight III was looking to make in a previous news post have started to make their first inroads to the alpha build in the ARPG’s latest patch. In this update, the Dusk Mage’s Dark tree is getting its first skill tier bonuses, along with a number of updates meant to improve the overall feel of combat.

[AL:TL3]Judging from the opening of the patch notes, this first pass at skill tier bonuses is probably a bit rough around the edges, so feedback will likely be important from alpha participants here. “It’s never comfortable to show our work in this in-progress state,” explains the post, “but we’re committed giving the alpha audience up-to-date builds so their feedback speaks directly to active development.”

The update has touched not only several Dusk Mage skills but also a variety of skills and traits for other characters like tweaks to the Forged’s Shotgonne Blast, Slug Shot, and Rapid Strike. There are also some adjustments to the environment, UI, items, and monsters, so alpha players may want to scour the notes while the update is applying itself.
