Just because Shadowlands is sailing around in the bay of beta right now doesn’t mean that World of Warcraft’s developers aren’t above taking the ship back to drydock to rework its core systems. In a recent interview, Blizzard announced that it’s going to be making significant changes to how the conduit destruction feature works.
While the studio acknowledged that players felt like the current system was too much of an annoying grind, Blizzard hasn’t yet laid out specifics for what Conduit Destruction 2.0 will look like.
Conduits are part of the Soulbinding system, a key part of Shadowlands’ character progression. Through conduits, players are able to assign specific bonuses to their avatars such as throughput, utility, and survival. Apparently, blowing up socketed conduits didn’t sit right with the testing crowd, and so now it’s back to the drawing board.
