It’s nearly time to celebrate seven years of Final Fantasy XIV since its relaunch with the annual return of the Rising event, starting on Thursday, August 27th. This has been a pretty strange year for FFXIV (and, you know… the rest of the world), but that doesn’t mean an end to the festivities. It does mean they’re a bit more subdued this year, but the latest official development blog entry shows off what players can expect.
As always, the Rising festival brings a splash of color to all the places around Eorzea, and this year will give you a chance to have a stained-glass portrait of the Sultana and her attendant lalafells to place on your wall. There’s also a new wind-up Ardbert minion, more bottles of champagne to spray everywhere, and the prospect of another return appearance from everyone’s favorite stand-in for the producer and director himself.
