It’s almost time to head underground in Fallout 76 when it comes to building Shelters. This is the next major feature arriving for the game’s C.A.M.P. system, allowing players access to underground spaces from a small utility space to a massive atrium. Players are encouraged to come try out the system on the game’s test server and to explore all of the options, with all three Shelter sizes available right from the start and free of charge to experimental builders.
When the system actually goes live (which is planned to be this year), players will have to first unlock Shelters via a quest and purchase the larger sizes via Atoms or subscription, but on the test server it’s all free to try out. And the developers want people to take advantage of that fact, with players able to earn a free pennant for taking part in stress testing and building through October 4th. Players will still be able to test Shelters even after the focused testing period, though; this is just a particularly opportune time to give a solid effort at building your own underground dwelling.
