There’s been a recent update made to Diablo II: Resurrected that has mostly applied various quality-of-life improvements. Top of the list are several gameplay features like a game difficulty scaler for offline games that works similarly to the /players debug command, a force move option that lets players command their character to move to a specific location without targeting monsters, the option to use hotkeys for abilities with the quick cast feature, and an active skill bindings UI element showing the skills other players have mapped for their character.

The patch is otherwise full of bug fixes, new visual indicators for things like muted characters and missed PvP attacks, Nvidia DLSS support, and some other QoL improvements such as proper error messaging, improved pathing for player summons, and the ability for pets, summons, and mercenaries to warp next to player characters if they fall too far behind from player characters.

Activision-Blizzard is considered a controversial company in the MMO and gaming space owing to a long string of scandals over the last few years, including the Blitzchung boycott, mass layoffs, labor disputes, and executive pay fiasco. In the summer of 2021, the company was sued by the state of California for fostering a work environment riddled with sexual harassment and discrimination, the disastrous corporate response to which has further compounded Blizzard’s ongoing pipeline issues and the widespread perception that its online games are in decline. As of fall 2021, multiple state and federal agencies are currently investigating the company and the industry has called for Bobby Kotick’s resignation following fresh reports on his misdeeds.
