I have told this story once or twice before: I was standing in a store with my boyfriend, rifling through shelves of games, looking for something we could play, when he showed me a copy of Ultima Online, which I declared looked very dumb. I mean, hello, why would you even want to play with thousands of other people. Sounds awful!

Yeah, sometimes our first reaction isn’t the one that sticks.

Of course, I know some folks learned about MMOs long before they could or even wanted to buy and play one. When and where were you when you first learned about MMOs?
