Diablo IV is free-to-play on PC through Battle.net until Monday

So if you were staring longingly at the free trial for Diablo IV granted to Xbox players earlier this month, you can stop now because it’s coming to PC too. Yes, one of the biggest franchises in the world is running a free trial for a game that isn’t even five months old, what? Those MAUs won’t count themselves.

“Just in time for Halloween, players can enter Sanctuary in a free trial on Battle.Net from Thursday, October 26 at 10 AM PT through Monday, October 30,” Blizzard announced last night. There are a few, uh, provisos, a couple of quid pro quos: You’ll have access to all the game’s content and social tools as well as crossplay, but your toon will max out at level 20 (the game goes to 100 right now).

Of course, the real goal here is to convince you to buy the game, so Blizzard will grant players a 25% discount through the trial and allow them to carry over their progress too. That brings the standard edition down to $52.49 US, if you’re wondering.

Meanwhile, if you’re looking to be grossed out by exceptional artists – and if you’re playing Diablo IV, this is probably your vibe – then the studio has dropped a new behind-the-scenes vid for you:
