Thanks, I hate it.

Season of the Wish is now only days away from releasing to Destiny 2 players, which means that Bungie has a lot of updates to cover in its latest weekly newsletter, bringing paragraphs that detail adjustments for class abilities, armor mod tweaks, and information about the Season 23 artifact.

The post begins by showcasing the five columns of perks waiting in Season 23’s Queensfoil Censer artifact, which feature a focus on rocket launchers, ignition and shatter effects, and the elements of Stasis, Strand, and Solar. Better get used to sidearms if you’re hoping to counter barrier champions.

As for class ability changes, those get understandably granular while Bungie explains overall goals intended with the updates like tuning down survivability for certain abilities that “exceed [the studio’s] power bar,” making sure abilities meet an internal cost-to-output ratio, and beginning focused tuning on Stasis, Well of Radiance, and Ward of Dawn.

The next several paragraphs detail adjustments for class-specific exotic armor pieces, all of which are built around bringing underused exotics up, particularly in the case of melee-minded exotics and the Aeon series of Warlock exotics. As for armor mod updates, those primarily focus on bonking them with a nerf bat through increased cooldown times for Kickstart mods, Bomber mods, and Reaper mods among others.

Finally, the newsletter closes with word that the broadening of D2’s fireteam finder feature will begin with a stress test of a raid group finder on Thursday, November 30th. Bungie states its goal of making sure the LFG tool works at scale, and asks for both player feedback and patience as it works out the kinks.
