If your big resolution for 2024 is to get moving and get healthy, then there’s one game that could be your best friend on this journey. WalkScape is an upcoming mobile app that blends your daily steps with an ongoing adventure in a fantasy realm. The best part of this is that you could get your hands on it soon, as the title is going into closed beta on January 18th.

WalkScape is a game inspired by some old school MMORPGs,” the dev said. “But this game has one major trick up its sleeve: You don’t play actively but instead gain progress by walking. You can expect a fun and exciting journey through the World of Arenum while also having the motivation to walk!”

As you may have surmised from the name, WalkScape draws heavy inspiration from RuneScape — so much so that the developer obtained a license from Jagex to use RuneScape in its marketing.

A sign-up for the closed beta is coming soon and will appear on the WalkScape portal. The dev sounds pumped: “There are still some tasks remaining before the release, mainly polishing and adding more content to the game. I am really hoping that the initial release goes well.”
