The Daily Grind: What’s the first thing you do when returning to a long-neglected MMO?

I admit that I have a weakness to MMOs that woo me back into playing them. So when SWTOR changed hands to Broadsword and showed signs of actual life again, I gladly allowed myself to be pulled back into its orbit once more.

Of course, it wasn’t as easy as hitting “go!” There was the decision to make between resuming an old character or a brand-new one. I had to review the last couple years of patches, sort out inventories, find a new guild, arrange the UI and keybinds just so, and decide if I wanted to be a light-sided hero or a dark-sided jerk.

That was my process for this particular game, but it might not be yours. So when you come back to an old favorite MMO that you’ve neglected for a while, what are some of the first things that you do as you go through re-entry?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
