Life is Feudal MMO continues its comeback with a relaunch on Steam

In May of 2023, we learned that the MMO portion of Life is Feudal was coming back from its 2021 sunset under the stewardship of Long Tale Games, a company that’s big into crypto. That influence doesn’t appear to have infected the game’s return, however, and indeed that return is likely further set in stone as it’s now available on the Steam platform once again.

LTG put together an introductory post that seeks to get old fans back up to speed on what’s changed between 2021 and now, including new structures and blueprints, enhanced skills, profession balancing, and integrated voice chat, among several other updates. The studio also put out a 2024 roadmap that promises additional features like new arenas, rebalancing for item production and the game’s economy, a new map, and further expansion to additional game stores.

Of course, the biggest change to LIF MMO is the addition of a subscription model, though veterans of the original game can take advantage of a loyalty program that gives those who made any previous purchases special LiF Coins that can be exchanged for a subscription to the game, while those who have been using LTG’s bespoke launcher to play the MMO will receive seven days of subscription time.

With all of this said, the Steam user reviews are not particularly glowing – “mostly negative,” to be precise – as recent reviews claim LTG is a scam company and dish out accusations that content updates have been applied along with map wipes, which is certainly a problem for a persistent kingdom-growing PvP MMORPG. If those aren’t deterrent enough, then guess who’s back, back again.
