Elite Dangerous makes additional tweaks to Thargoid War mechanics

Elite: Dangerous already made some updates to the mechanics of the Thargoid War earlier in the week, but that wasn’t the end of Frontier Development’s tuning, as a new hotfix has made some additional changes to aspects of the conflict.

Specifically, the patch has changed Thargoid spire system mechanics, with system progress that occurs as a result of pushback no longer being affected by the usual weekly post-maintenance regeneration. “With this change, you can rest assured that attacking any spire system, at any time of the week, will contribute permanently to the war effort,” FDev explains.

The patch has also made a small fix to the navigation panel that now correctly displays anti-xeno conflict zones within counterstrike systems, while the patch notes further elaborate on pushback effects when a spire system is fully taken back. It’s once again pretty granular, but ideally another helpful step in the wider Thargoid War.
