Seekers of Skyveil, the PvPvE extraction MOBA from Elodie Games, is once again on our radar, as the studio’s latest development blog is talking up some forward momentum, with work now moving from establishing a core gameplay loop to adding new characters.

The studio confirms that while its core gameplay loops still need some work, the team is now confident enough to move to its next phase of development, which will add more content and depth to the title. This starts with the introduction of new characters, with plans to add at least 12 new roster additions by early 2025.

Elodie further breaks down what testers of the game can expect in terms of how new characters will be added, which will begin life as proxy models with first drafts of animations, VFX, and abilities, then further get refined through player feedback and gameplay surveys. Finally, it shares a teaser image of three new additions that are currently in development.

If any of this work has piqued your interest, or if you’ve been following along Skyveil’s development path long enough to try it out, a new “major” playtest is coming to Steam, running on June 6th and June 7th. Each test will be available between 8:00 p.m. EDT and midnight, and promises a new character and a new map type. Interested fans can request access on Skyveil’s Steam page or cross their fingers to get a key through Twitter and Discord giveaways.
