The Daily Grind: What quality-of-life update revitalized your MMO experience?

I'm popular.

You know what, sometimes I don’t need a full-fledged expansion to renew my love and involvement in an MMO. Sometimes all it takes is a much-needed or clever quality-of-life feature.

Last year for me, it was LOTRO’s optional difficulty setting that allowed the player to make the landscape content tougher in exchange for some long-term rewards. This year? It’s got to be World of Warcraft’s warband system, especially how it’s allowing me to go transmog hunting for all my characters with little in the way of restrictions.

Have you ever encountered a similar second wind in an MMO because a quality-of-life feature or tweak came along to make everything that much better or more exciting?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
