APB Reloaded’s New Horizon launch party saw 1000 concurrent players

Not to shabby for an indie MMO from 2010

Earlier this month, we were surprised but please to report that Little Orbit’s APB Reloaded was getting a juicy new update, its first in ages, called New Horizon. The devs’ intent was to shore up the F2P game for new players and old players alike, with new contacts, new anti-cheat, revamped contact rewards, lowered mod rank reqs, a revamp of the Waterfront district, and plenty more. “[W]e’re now giving away more free items than ever in the regular progression of the game,” the team declared.

Well, that patch is live now and in the middle of a “launch party.”

“We’re excited to finally get some new content into the game and hope that you all enjoy New Horizon as much as we enjoyed making it,” the studio says. “This update is one of the largest updates that we have ever shipped, so we are expecting to run into some issues that we are going to have to address. We will keep you all in the loop about any ongoing issues in our dedicated “New Horizon Launch Updates” thread on the forums and Little Orbit discord.” Events will continue over the next two weekends:

“Join us on Saturday, August 17th, Sunday, August 18th, Saturday, August 24th, and Sunday, August 25th on both Citadel and Jericho as we spin up some fun little Minigames that award Joker Tickets. These Minigames will include an updated version of our Joker Box Gun Game with all the recent Legendary guns, including the new ISSR-C ‘Kingdom’. These events will be a great opportunity to get your hands on them and try them out.”

Little Orbit boss Matt Scott seemed pleased with the attention players are giving the game. “I want to thank the community for logging in and checking out New Horizon. Over 1000 players on right now!” he tweeted last night.
