Hope you didn’t have your heart set on a September 17th launch for Throne and Liberty because Amazon and NCsoft just delayed it again. The good news is that it’s not being delayed by much: The new launch date is now October 1st.
“To give our team the time needed to incorporate the most critical pieces of feedback and systems, we have decided to move the THRONE AND LIBERTY launch to October 1, 2024, with Early Access starting on September 26, 2024. Below you dive into the specifics of the updates we’re implementing to ensure THRONE AND LIBERTY provides the best player experience possible at launch.”
Amazon’s ensuing dev vlog outlines multiple changes coming to justify that new date, including early-game combat improvements, tab-target adjustments, a rebalance of skill acquisition timing, a calmed-down progression journey (so the game isn’t throwing a million things at noobs), better guild tagging, the new skill spec system, fishing, cooking, Amitoi expeditions, and more quality-of-life perks.
We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the game during its testing earlier this summer, so maybe a delay to finish perfecting it for the global launch isn’t as bad as it sounds. Really, the only weird thing here is it’s now that much closer to conflict with Amazon’s New World Aeternum.
