OK, folks, it’s game day, literally: The game is Throne and Liberty, which we’ve been waiting for for over a decade, though of course it’s gone through a lot of testing and name changes since then.
Preorder buyers will be able to enter the early access gates at 1 p.m. EDT today, presuming they took advantage of the preloading that began Tuesday. Players angling for the real launch next week – which is free-to-play – can just play something else this weekend and let the headstart people deal with any launch woes. Fun!
As we covered last night, Amazon and NCsoft have already laid out a roadmap for the game’s first three months here in the west; the studios are planning a content cadence that includes major releases every three or four months, interspersed with holiday events and smaller content drops with bosses and sieges and so forth. Worth noting again is that the teams are clearly weighing the rollout in the west vs. Korea carefully – and hoping not to repeat any mistakes.
We also spoke to Amazon earlier this week about the balance of PvP and PvE, lifeskilling mechanics, and how small guilds fit into the picture.
And now… we wait the final few hours. Are you planning on playing?

We’re investigating an issue preventing some Steam players who have purchased Early Access packs from launching Throne & Liberty.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this.
