If that headline didn’t clue you in, the latest update to Mortal Online 2 has a lot going on, touching on a wide assortment of gameplay mechanics and adding a few things to the PvP sandbox.

First, the game has officially upgraded its tech with a switch to Unreal Engine 5.4 and the addition of “next-generation hardware” for its servers, the latter of which should “significantly enhance server performance for large-scale populations and improve latency.”

In terms of new things for the game, there’s now a lottery system in place that lets players try their luck at hoards of gold by buying an in-game lottery ticket, a new armor pierced debuff that can be applied during combat, and a “fledgling” flag that’s automatically added to characters who have moved from Haven; this flag persists for 168 hours, but it can be turned off with a slash command, just in case players don’t like having a possible target painted on their back.

Finally, the game’s pet system has gotten a major overhaul that affects nearly all Beast Mastery abilities and every creature in the game alongside other adjustments to pet-related abilities and systems. There are also changes to clade gifts and fixes to AI, combat, and the UI. It’s a cornucopia of updates that your eyes can feast on here.
