A new season is on the horizon for the PvP game show FPS The Finals, with Season 5 confirmed to arrive on Thursday, December 12th, bringing with it a bunch of new things to see and do while trying to win that in-game cash.

The centerpiece of Season 5 is a new map known as Bernal, a South American-inspired area that features a massive monolithic structure, narrow cobblestone streets, and plenty of rooftops to leap around from… or walls to blow holes through; this game does allow for nearly full destruction of its combat environments, after all.

Another big feature coming in Season 5 is the clubs system, which lets solo players or squads come together to form guild-like sports teams that offer various benefits like team contracts to earn XP and fans or team-up requests to find teammates for favorite modes.

Other additions coming with Season 5 include two new weapons, two new gadgets, balancing for existing weapons and gadgets, three added sponsors including the returning ISEUL-T, and a launch of the game to the PlayStation 4. Of course, an upcoming season launch isn’t complete without a new teaser trailer jam-packed with smash cuts; that’s below as well.

Readers will recall that Nexon called out The Finals as a high point in its third fiscal quarter, with the game contributing to nearly double year-over-year revenue for the company, “a substantial and lasting improvement in both short- and mid-term retention,” and “healthy” improvements in terms of hours played and player engagement.
