Looking for a new RPG that’s got a bit of everything stuffed into it? You might want to check out Fera: The Sundered Tribes for a delightful blend of several popular game modes.
For starters, Fera is a multiplayer monster hunter game with proper online co-op where you fight impossibly large beasts for glory and reward. But helping you do that is an expansive movement system that incudes a lightning grappling hook and glider wings that allow for some aerial combat.
On top of that, players will help a tribe build up a village and manage their civilization: “Lead a tribe that has guarded a legend of renewal for centuries. Now that it has come to pass, you are a beacon of hope for what few humans remain. Gather more tribespeople, save them from the beasts, build up your village, and see them come together into a unit that reacts and grows with you.”
Fera is currently in early access (it launched in September) and requires an up-front buy-in of $30. Steam reviews are “mixed” overall but “mostly positive” recently; reviewers mostly think the game launched into early access too soon – i.e., the early access curse has struck again.
