Earlier this month, we noted that Bossa Games was pushing onward with its new multiplayer MMO-esque sandbox Lost Skies by releasing an Island Creator tool on Steam. Now, that tool is finally launched, allowing players to build an island almost from scratch, with terrain tools, environmental effects, landscaping, architecture, puzzles, and playtesting too.
“Bossa Games and Humble Games are excited to announce the release of the free Island Creator for Lost Skies, the open-world cooperative PvE survival adventure that has players exploring breathtaking worlds of floating islands. The Island Creator brings unparalleled creativity to the skies, allowing adventurers to design, test, and refine their masterpiece. Become an architect of your own floating world in a sky full of possibilities in the Island Creator now.”
Lost Skies is Bossa Games’ spiritual sequel to the defunct MMO Worlds Adrift, which offered a similar setup – and a similar tool to allow players to construct the game’s basic building-block landmasses and release them to others. We’re guessing there’s a lot of technical overlap here too!
The tool is free to use via Steam. Lost Skies itself is still deep in development.
