Don’t sleep on Villagers and Heroes this winter if you’re in the mood for a solid indie MMO with a host of features (including housing). The title is lively this month with a new patch — Patch 5.38 — that released to both the PC and mobile version.

This update kicks off Raids Season 9: Lives of the Lost, modified some high-level player power stats, and changed raids so that players have a set number of “lives” based on the difficulty level. There is also a huge number of bug fixes and improvements to the core game with the patch.

Unfortunately, there were some issues with the patch that required a follow-up hotfix to correct.

Additionally, Villagers and Heroes posted a roadmap leading into 2025 that previews some upcoming content. This includes the Sugarsweet event zone, the second part of The Crux, Sands of the Equinox, Twilight Vale, and a tantalizing “TBD” for Frontier Zone.
