Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida has come back to the game’s official site with his annual New Year’s address to players, which grants a vague sense of the MMORPG’s plans for 2025 and a reflection on the game’s development.

Yoshida opens by thanking fans for their support on his now 15th year working on FFXIV, then continues on to note that his team is deep in development of Patch 7.2, which will see him start his own checks in February, which lines up with a projected March release. In general, fans of the MMORPG can expect Patch 7.2 and Patch 7.3 as the major updates this year according to Yoshida. He also notes how he’s already begun preparing for the next series of fan festival events.

“Our jam-packed schedule is set to bring you a jam-packed patch, so look forward to loads of new content,” Yoshida closes in his address. “Kicking off with the release of Patch 7.2, we hope to bring you a year full of fun and surprises, both in game and out.”
