We have to say we’re really appreciating all the producer letters outta Star Wars The Old Republic and the Broadsword team, the latest of which dropped last night.
The most immediate news in the memo is the look ahead to what SWTOR fans can expect as Star Wars Day approaches. “Star Wars Celebration 2025 will be hosted in Tokyo, Japan this year and those attending may see a couple of familiar faces there,” the devs write. “While we are not hosting a Cantina, Ashley, Jackie, and Joe will be out and about meeting players and representing SWTOR during that weekend. SWTOR will also have a featurette on the Star Wars Celebration Live stream as well.” It looks as if we’re getting a hover pod mini as a login reward, a Naboo C-type speeder as a subber reward, and a few other celebration rewards to boot.
Finally, Broadsword tells players to expect a stream for GU 7.7 in early May with a look at more dynamic encounters and master mode for Relentless Replication, in addition to the ongoing character customization tweaks. And no, the team has not given up on story updates.
“The team has not stopped working on our story updates! We shared details about Galactic Threads in the 7.6 livestream, and are looking forward to sharing a glimpse of Master’s Enigma in the 7.7 livestream. We know story is a vital part of what makes SWTOR so special, and we’re eager to release these updates as soon as we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding, and we’re looking forward to bringing these updates live!”
The servers came down at 8 a.m. EDT this morning for patch 7.6.1c, mind you, with an ETA for returning 11 a.m. EDT, so expect them back shortly.
