Is this a real game? Did this happen again? Wild Buster added Serious Sam alongside Duke Nukem. We must acquiesce, neither is in the first alpha test; this is a small test, runs through October 9th with a little map, little squads, lots of guns, the lore is odd. If you want to play it, there’s an IndieGoGo that’s on. Now that’s done.
Readers! We have more news. We put it in a list, read it now, you can’t resist.
- The pre-alpha for Dual Universe kicked off, which is slightly less than the alpha that was meant to happen but the best the game can manage right now according to the developers. And there’s a trailer, too!
- Remember the Free Realms sunset? It was very upsetting. But now there’s a Free Realms emulator dubbed “Sunrise” that’s preparing for more alpha testing, so that’s a good thing.
- Is Star Citizen’s 3.0 out? Sort of! It’s in the hands of some players, that’s almost like a release. Getting closer, at any rate!
- And speaking of things that have been long-awaited while developers run down a list, Crowfall chimed in this week with an explanation about why the staff doesn’t make the production to-do list public. If you look closely, there may be some hidden shade in there.
- Last but not least in anything but size, Pocket Legends Adventures is a new thing that’s on its way. Pretty cool, right? We think that’s pretty cool.
Now that we’ve gotten Queen references out of our system and shared some other news with you, we feel comfortable showing you a list of games in testing. If something in here has soft-launched without us noticing, please, let us know down in the comments. Things get missed sometimes, you know how it is.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
