Check out the view of Toril through space from Neverwinter’s upcoming Stardock map

Kind of wish we had some better D&D MMOs to choose from, even though I'm well aware they both have their fans.

If you were expecting some kind of stock fantasy setting from Neverwinter’s upcoming Uprising module, well, first of all, you clearly missed the most horrifying cloak of all time, and that was a big clue. Either way, PWE is making it abundantly clear with its latest dev blog, which deep-dives parts of the modules new maps. And yeah, you’re kinda gonna be in space.

“The goal here was to give players something visually refreshing and something they wouldn’t expect,” PWE says of the new area, Stardock, which is not a euphemism, as you’re pretty much on an asteroidal space station looking down through the chasm of space upon the world. “Thanks to Halaster and the many portals in Undermountain, it gave us a great avenue for something unique. For the first time we get to look out onto the world in which we travel: Toril!” There’s a nifty crystal-encrusted arena as well.

“One of our main goals for this milestone was to let players not only see Toril, but Stardock also. We decided to create a few pieces of content that would share local space with Stardock, letting players see it in the vista while they crush enemies and players alike.”

Uprising retools the lowbie experience and adds the playable Gith class when it launches on August 13th.
