Maybe it’s time to take a break from looking for the next big thing — and look at the next small thing. It may be tiny, chubby, and streamlined, but Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff has potential to be an enjoyable diversion for you and a few of your best friends.

Today, the game is launching on Steam early access, giving players an opportunity to explore a single large zone alone or with a few others via co-op multiplayer. Questing, combat, mounts, and some basic gathering systems are in, but there’s a lot more that’s being developed, such as housing and crafting. Kindred Games said that it will be putting out an early access roadmap in the days to come.

Swords and Magic ‘n Stuff ran a successful Kickstarter this past spring to net $79,000 to help finish up the project, a project that began when a dad wanted to create a fun world in which to game with his kids. The game is expected to be in early access for at least a year and maybe two.
