Not every ship in the world of Star Citizen has to be about combat. Sometimes you just want to board a big boat and explore the world. That’s where the MISC Odyssey comes into play; it’s a large exploration vessel that plans to offer a little bit of everything.
The newly introduced Odyssey was the subject of the latest Inside Star Citizen video, granting fans a closer look at the mammoth internet spaceship’s design and features. Capable of crewing six players, the Odyssey has plenty of stuff packed into its frame, with a sizeable cargo hold, an on-board medical bay, missile racks and remote-operated turrets, a hangar for smaller ships, a mining arm and tractor beam, and an on-board refinery that lets players process their freshly zapped space rocks into quantum and hydrogen fuel. The Odyssey is also currently in concept, though that is once more not stopping CIG from allowing the ship to be purchased.
The second half of the video rattles off several other vehicle-related features, offering progress reports on the Hull A and Hull C, equippable tractor beams, the Starfarer, the Vulture, the Merchantman, and the debut of a new fighter from RSI called the Scorpius.
