DC Universe Online is getting static. Sorry, we misspoke; it’s not that the game is getting static in that it is fixed and unmoving, it’s getting Static, the hero character who will serve as the central contact for the upcoming Episode 45, Shock to the System. As you can imagine, there’s a crisis in a hero-centric location (Dakota City, in this case), and player characters are called upon to solve the problem or make it slightly worse in ways that personally benefit them depending on whether they are heroes or villains. You get the idea.

The team at Dimensional Ink isn’t stopping there, with the entirety of the studio’s plans for 2023 available in the same announcement. A new emote system is planned for the second quarter of the year along with more events, and then another episode is planned for the third quarter (although the announcement does not yet disclose what the story around said episode might be). Check out the full rundown on the official site.
