If you’re a PvP player of Destiny 2, then this week’s newsletter is almost exclusively for you, as Bungie’s PvP strike team is checking in with several plans and updates coming in August that touch pretty much every aspect of the FPS’ PvP combat.
The post opens with several changes coming in an August update that include Crucible adjustments to map weighting for 6v6 matches, a new lobby balancing system, updated quitter penalties to combat what the devs call an “epidemic” of habitual match quitters who are trying to seek out easier matches, and PvP-specific nerfs to Threaded Specter and Swarm Grenades abilities.
The patch will also change the Passage of Persistence buff for Trials of Osiris, tweak the Clash and Collision match types for competitive PvP, and temporarily remove the Tribute game mode from Iron Banner in order for the devs to minimize frustrations with the mode. The first half of the newsletter gets into hyper-granular detail on these adjustments, so PvPing fans of the shooter may want to read through for more.
As for the remainder of the newsletter, that calls attention to improved chances for exotic class drops that are mainly weighted towards participating in the overthrow activity, along with the return of BRAVE arsenal weapon attunement, both of which are also planned for sometime in August.
