Fractured extends free-play through the weekend, drops short-term content roadmap

Fractured has a new dev blog out with a roadmap and some good news for folks who’ve been enjoying the free-play event: The event has been extended through this weekend to Labor Day.

“We’ve taken this decision because we have a major engine and quality-of-life update coming this week, and we want all of you to be able to see the difference for yourselves,” Dynamight Studios says. The engine upgrade is a port to Unity 2022.3, which is done and in testing right now; the devs hope it will clean up the server crashes that have apparently been plaguing the build over the last week.

As for the rest of summer, Dynamight is working on MOBA-esque control options, settings for things like quick casting and cursors, and fixes for mechanics like mounting, targeting, and radial menus. Premium houses are on the way, new consumables are coming, artifact gear crafting is underway, and the devs are creating more reasons for players to fuss with city upgrades too.

MOP’s Chris has been playing Fractured the last few weeks for Choose My Adventure and… actually likes it? His next column drops later today, in fact, so stay tuned.
