Working As Intended: The MMOs we lost in 2024

Welcome to the worst article I have to write every year. I mean, nobody is really making me do it. But I still feel I have to write it; I don’t want to lose sight of the fact that while we get lots of new MMOs and multiplayer titles every year, we also lose a few too. It sucks, but I want to make sure they’re remembered.

In 2024, we lost ArcheAge (twice), The Wagadu Chronicles, Warhaven, Chimeraland, Genfanad, HPMA, and Concord, plus MMOs like Zenith and Temtem went so hard into maintenance mode they’re pretty much gone too. We even lost some in-development titles, like Blue Protocol and Odyssey, which will never launch in the west at all, and of course, MMOs like Shadowbane have been lost and revived repeatedly, so I’m not sure how much it stings – but it still sucks. This sucks.

o7, old friends.
