World of Warcraft 6.2 adds new dungeon difficulty, zone

If you thought the first major patch of Warlords of Draenor seemed a bit thin on content, you’ll be happier with World of Warcraft‘s patch 6.2, which is now available on the test server. This patch adds Mythic difficulty for dungeons, a new raid, a new zone, the new Shipyard for garrisons (complete with naval missions), and the conclusion of the Legendary Ring questline. Yes, that’s quite a bit of stuff to fit in the second major patch.

Not all of these changes are available for testing just yet; Hellfire Citadel (the new raid) and Mythic dungeons are still being rolled out, as are naval missions. Smaller changes are also on the test server, however, like the removal of a cap for Apexis Crystals and the newly added item level sync for non-PvP items in PvP combat. Check out the full list of changes and keep your eyes open for more changes as the patch gets put through the paces of testing.

God… WoW is 10 years old. Time to put it out to pastor.

really looking forward to some of this. The “time walker” dungeons especially – running wrath dungeons like halls of lightening again (one of my favourites) and getting meaningful ilvl690 loot. This sort of mechanic is overdue in WoW and a sign of more downscaling you see in other games like GW2.

Bannex19 No, no. Its reallyt damned easy to hit 100 and not have a level 3 garrison. You just have to do like me and burn all your resources on missions without having a stable of double resource minions, dont have a lumber yard or a stables.

Its why my firsr toon to 100 took a few weeks to get her level 3, because it never occured to me that the lumber mill wasnt optional.

Heroic raids aren’t on a weekly lockout.  The bosses have a loot lockout but that’s it.  I’m assuming they’re going to use the same lockout system as Mythic raids.  If you aren’t familiar it’s a horrible lockout system for dungeons.  It heavily discourages switching party members and doesn’t allow friends to help each other out.

Last thing I’ll look at is the class changes in these. Because Blizz has a habit putting things right back and then some when it comes closer to the patch release. Or even changing them again. Look for the patch updates on the PRT closer to the time of release, as this is more likely what they’re going with. In the meantime, jump on the PRT and give plenty of feedback.

Sometime, WoW isn’t designed for the impulsive spender. :(

evolv_monbly hardy83 Bannex19 I had 12 garrisons and to level one and all the buildings (you don’t have to level all the buildings to lvl 3) it cost me about 19k each.

Dope_Danny I’m calling it now: 6.3 will be the last patch, and it will include a ‘new timeless isle’ (probably in the form of whats-that-islands-name that was in the upper right hand corner of the Blizzcon map from ’13) and a final raid that will be set somewhere in the Old World (probably Stormwind for ‘balance’ with SoO or something).

Greaterdivinity Dope_Danny Based on the patch notes, my guess was also for this one to be the last real content patch in WoD. If there will be another raid beyond Hellfire Citadel, I wouldn’t expect anything more than a new version of the Ruby Sanctum… Didn’t Blizzard say that indestructible time traveling orc guy was the final boss of the expansion?

Let’s see what features they will announce in June or August for the next expansion…
