Warcraft movie delayed once again

FEEL THE NOISE

If you were making plans to head to theaters in March of next year to see the Warcraft film as soon as it opened, your plans were apparently rather premature. Not just because that’s 11 months away, but because the film has been delayed again by three months. It’s now slated to come out in June of 2016.

This is the film’s second delay, with the first delay pushing it back from a December release to avoid competing with some film or another called Star Wars. No word on whether this latest delay is to avoid another film or just because more time is needed in post-production; it’s possible everyone just really liked the marketing phrase “summer of Azeroth.”

Yeah… not having at least a teaser is a bit disconcerting. I’d be happy if this movie is at least as good as the Hobbit films… I highly doubt it will reach the caliber of the LotR trilogy though.

WildarX  While I’m not sure I subscribe to the whole “Oscar chance” stance, I agree with the rest of your points. :)

Sadly, the “when it’s ready” days are long, long over where Blizzard and WoW are concerned.

Rozyn Haha, yes I’m being serious :-)I know it’s easy to take this news as a typical Blizzard development delay, but it isn’t.  This is a real movie, with a real budget from a real studio with serious actors, directors, composers and all the rest that goes with a Hollywood film.  Just look at the IMDB, this is not a low budget B movie like Sharknado.  Besides I doubt Blizzard has anything to do with when the movie is released.  That’s up to the studio executives to decide base on a lot of factors.Having this movie release in Mar 2016 is way to early for a potential summer blockbuster.  Moving it to Jun 2016 makes more sense and yes, it can impact it’s potential to earn awards.  I mean seriously Ramin Djwadi is doing the musci!  He’s only the guy that did HBO’s Game of Thrones theme and all the rest of that show.I have no idea if this will be a blockbuster hit movie or not.  Just don’t confuse what happens in the movie industry with what goes on in gaming industry.
