EVE Online’s player history is a massive, ever-shifting entity, and one man is making good on his dream and promise to put it into writing.

A History of the Great Empires of EVE Online, a Kickstarter project by writer Andrew Groen, funded and then some back in mid-2014. Since then Groen has been slaving away on the stories of the grand in-game player epics with the help of an illustrator. A couple of days ago he was able to announce that the proof copies of the book were mailed to him for final approval before printing. He took several pictures of the pages and brought it with him to PAX this past weekend.

“Thank you all for your patience,” he posted. “You’ve all been so wonderful and supportive over the past 17 months. We added some time to the project delivery window by adding the hardcover book, but it was worth it. We’re a bit behind schedule, but the finish line is in sight.”

Groen initially sought $12,500 to fund the book but received over $95,000 by the end of the campaign. He made it clear that this was a fan project and not connected to CCP apart from general support from the studio.
