Final Fantasy XIV welcomes players to another year of updates

Samurai still not confirmed, somehow.
It’s sometimes difficult to believe that Final Fantasy XIV has been running for five years now in one form or another. A new letter from producer and director Naoki Yoshida notes that by one metric, the game has already had a significant lifespan as an MMO, but looked at as a whole it’s only a couple of years old. And this year has some stuff waiting for players, all right.

Yoshida promises that this year’s fan festival will bring plenty of announcements for players, with more content coming in February with the launch of patch 3.2. That content apparently includes flying turtles, if you were wondering about that. It’s a hopeful letter for a game that’s done quite well for itself over the past two years since its relaunch; let’s all hope for even more this year.

Wyattearp1989 hardy83 Koshelkin lol brain fart. I meant to say 15. Which is still $20/month, which I still think is too much.

Koshelkin yeah the updates are nice, bug fixes need to be better but everything else it does, there are other mmos that do it better.

Unless you are really into that FF universe its not really worth it.

hardy83 Koshelkin Right, what Wyattearp said, For the single character sub, it should only be 17.99 CAD.

hardy83 Koshelkin It’s $12.99 USD for the lowest price or $14.99 USD to unlock all character slots per server. Unless you are factoring in adding extra retainers, I don’t see where the $19 came from.

Koshelkin I wish it wasn’t $19/month USD because in Canada it ends up being almost $27/month CAD which is insane.

Early mumblings I’ve seen nod to adjustments to Alex again, along with tweaks to the Diadem and a mew line of Tomestones.
If you were expecting these announces to shake the paradigm of this game, I would not hold my breath.

I wish I were into this game. I think it’s one of the most updated and expanded MMOs.
