Final Fantasy XIV welcomes players to another year of updates

Samurai still not confirmed, somehow.
It’s sometimes difficult to believe that Final Fantasy XIV has been running for five years now in one form or another. A new letter from producer and director Naoki Yoshida notes that by one metric, the game has already had a significant lifespan as an MMO, but looked at as a whole it’s only a couple of years old. And this year has some stuff waiting for players, all right.

Yoshida promises that this year’s fan festival will bring plenty of announcements for players, with more content coming in February with the launch of patch 3.2. That content apparently includes flying turtles, if you were wondering about that. It’s a hopeful letter for a game that’s done quite well for itself over the past two years since its relaunch; let’s all hope for even more this year.
